WHEN I PRAY
When I pray
I like to imagine
abstracts of Jesus:
a cross of light,
a Sacrificial Lamb,
a Sacred Host,
a Sacred Heart,
a Heart crowned with thorns,
a plan of salvation,
a Glorious Resurrection,
a Gradual Ascension,
a Wounded hand holding a prism,
a Great Dignity,
a Great Man of Two Natures,
a Master of many miracles,
an Everlasting Covenant,
a Zealous Bridegroom,
a Thief in the Night,
a Rider on a White Horse,
a Man of Bronze,
a Messianic Age,
a Festival of Tabernacles.
Our Loving Mother:
an Immaculate Heart,
a Heart pierced with a sword,
a Woman clothed with the sun,
a Crown of twelve stars,
a Morningstar,
a Mystical Rose,
our Last resort,
our Eternal Recourse,
our Unfailing Hope,
a Sinless Beauty,
an Immaculate Conception,
a Silent, Strong will,
a Most High Meditatrix,
an Era of Peace.
the Most Holy Trinity;
a Triune God,
a Triangle of Light,
a Tribunal of Angels,
a System of Support,
a Community of Persons,
a God Who Shares His Spirit.
When I Pray
I try to guard
my mind,
imagine something
like the Divine.
I must focus,
center myself
on Jesus...
at the center, Jesus.
in the future, Jesus.
in the end, Jesus.
Joseph Hart, the very intelligent poet who reviewed my chapbook originally, commented that I could enriched " When I Pray " by making it longer so here above is an expanded version.
Now then, a revision, and a simpler one, of " I Am Determined "
I AM DETERMINED ( Revised, simplified )
I am breathing,
I awake to life.
I am waking,
I behold the daylight.
I am thinking,
reflecting and deciding.
I am moving,
I am not prevented.
I am created,
I am made in the image.
( NOTE: Please do not add the line " I am determined, here, but make that the very last line in the poem at the very end. Here is how the rest of the poem should look. )
I am writing,
following a vision.
I am creating,
after the Spirit.
I am created,
I exist for the Glory.
I am determined,
I live another day.
Here now is " Tabernacle " formerly " Jesus is Alone"
TABERNACLE
Jesus is sitting
alone
not very far
from where you live.
His house
the nearest chapel,
Jesus sits a
prisoner there,
locked away
in the Tabernacle.
Should you drive
to any open chapel,
park your car,
walk in, then sign in.
You'll find Jesus
Waiting inside,
Happy to see
You visit Him
And giving Him
Your Time.
You may not
recognize Jesus at first.
Just so you know,
Jesus lives for now
in the Eucharist.
Pray, He'll listen.
Sit with Him,
He will bless you
with His protection.
He will dispatch
His angels to
watch over you
And He gives His Peace.....
I give you My Peace,
My Peace I give you.
I am the Lord,
I love you,
I thank you,
I will see you again
....soon.
Here is the last and only new entry for " I Am Determined". It is non-religious and harkens back to a childhood memory; having to run home when the street lights come on.
THE STREET LIGHTS
They're on!
Time to go!
Time to run home!
My ma always says:
' Get on home!
When you see
the street lights on.'
Forgot all about them
street lights,
when they came on.
Forgot what went on,
before us kids saw...
the street lights.
